The Powertrain Test Instrumentation Engineer Team Lead is responsible for leading a small group of development engineers to provide high quality and timely wiring services to the Powertrain organization ensuring that product development needs and timing milestones are met. This individual will lead all operational aspects of test cell wiring design, prototyping, documentation, and troubleshooting in addition to the supervision of the personnel in this area. Responsibilities include: supporting dyno testing activities by providing wiring harness design, fabrication and documentation, and troubleshooting and repair activities; ensuring that test cell wiring issues are resolved so that the cells are available to support 24/7 testing; developing and managing a harness reuse/rebuild/recondition process when harnesses come off of test; developing a standard test cell interface and infrastructure to ensure a common interface to engine wiring harnesses. Leadership responsibilities also include employee development, providing employee performance feedback at yearly reviews, and ensuring consistent and high levels of quality work.

Basic Qualifications:

  • Bachelor of Science degree in Electrical Engineering or Mechanical Engineering or equivalent from an ABET accredited university

  • A minimum of 7 years engineering experience

  • Demonstrated supervisory/management experience

  • Demonstrated experience with vehicle electrical systems and CAN communications

  • Ability to coordinate and prioritize multiple / complex technical and personnel issues

  • Demonstrated ability to drive change, where needed, and to create/sustain energy and drive results

  • Strong personal commitment to product and process improvement and ability to keep focused on delivering results

  • Excellent communication skills with the ability to present ideas and concepts successfully to all levels of management

  • Excellent organizational skills

  • Outstanding problem solving and analytical skills

  • Excellent relationship building skills with ability to work in a cross-functional team environment

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Master of Science in Electrical Engineering or Mechanical Engineering or equivalent from an ABET accredited university

  • Master's degree in Business Administration

  • At least 5 years of experience in Powertrain

  • At least 3 years of Dyno Testing experience (engine/transmission/vehicle)

VIEW JOBS 2/19/2020 12:00:00 AM 2020-05-19T00:00 FCA's Powertrain Software department is seeking a Powertrain Test Platform Integration Engineer on the Powertrain HIL and Virtual Tools team to work on Hardware-In-the-Loop systems. The candidate must have demonstrated knowledge and experience in development of HIL systems (dSPACE, ETAS, NI etc.) which includes integration of hardware and plant models and troubleshooting. The candidate must be a strong team player, systems focused with interdisciplinary experience and expertise (specifically electrified powertrain systems). The engineer must be willing to work in a fast-paced environment. In this position, he/she is expected to interface with various teams (Controls, Calibration, PTEE Systems) to drive implementation of various projects on HIL. The engineer will be working with global teams (EMEA, APAC and LATAM). Other responsibilities include conducting benchmarks, evaluating new HIL technologies, interfacing with suppliers for plant model requirements, working with teams on process, methodology and tools. Basic Qualifications: * Bachelor of Science degree in Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, or a closely related Engineering degree from an accredited university * Minimum of 2 years of professional engineering experience in electrical/electronics, hardware, software or controls * Knowledge and experience with electrified powertrain systems * Demonstrated Hardware- In-the-Loop systems experience (dSPACE, ETAS, NI HIL systems) * Experience with model-based development tools such as MATLAB/SIMULINK * Outstanding interpersonal and problem solving skills * Demonstrated ability to work independently an in a team environment * Strong communication skills, both verbal and written, with the ability to speak with individuals at all levels in the organization * Experience working cross-functionally Preferred Qualifications: * Master of Science degree or higher in Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering or Computer Engineering * Experience with powertrain plant and controller modeling, simulation, development, testing, and validation * Ability to adapt to changing environment with minimal effect on productivity * Strong understanding of the development of embedded software * Experience with 1-D physical modeling tools such as GT Power, AMESim and co-simulation tools * Experience with data acquisition and analysis tools such as ETAS-INCA Fiat Chrysler Automobiles Auburn Hills MI
