The Powerplant Fleet Manager reports to the Sr. Director of Propulsion, and is responsible for monitoring the operational performance of the Engine and APU fleet, participating in industry events related to product and operational reliability improvement, monitoring OEM (original equipment manufacturer) and vendor notices and data releases, and reviewing available modifications for possible improvements of the Engine and APU fleet and has the responsibility to report facts and findings to the SMS/IRB.

Essential Functions

  • Coordinates with maintenance and flight operations to ensure the most efficient and reliable operating procedures are utilized.

  • Coordinates with the OEM and vendors to ensure fleet reliability issues are addressed in a

  • timely manner.

  • Monitors OEM/vendor notices and data releases, reviewing available modifications available for possible improvements to ensure maximum performance of Engines and APU's.

  • Presenting selected or requested modifications to the SMS/IRB for approval.

  • Develops a corrective action on systems or components identified by the Reliability program as operating above the assigned alter level.

  • Suggests revisions to the maintenance program as required to ensure safe, reliable and efficient operation of aircraft or assigned system.

  • Reviews all Service Bulletins and other technical data from the OEM and vendors for revisions to current modification programs in work, to ensure the most current documentation is used.

  • Requests additional training of maintenance, ramp and flight crews as necessary to ensure safety, reliability and efficiency.

  • Revises temporary Repair Orders to add permanent repair procedures using applicable acceptable or approved data.

  • Oversees the Engine and APU maintenance program revision process as outlined in the Mesa Airlines, Inc. General Procedures Manual and the applicable Maintenance Program Manual.

  • Ensures that Engine and APU repairs meet continuing airworthiness requirements. For repairs issued by non-OEM sources, arranges for damage tolerance analysis of repair data to determine if structural Deviation Inspection Requirements (SDIR) apply to the repair. Works with the Tech Support Specialist Specialists for SDIR incorporation into the Engine maintenance programs.

  • Reviews supporting data to Configuration Control Analysts for part applicability and interchangeability.

  • Reviews regulatory compliance data for incorporation into the maintenance program, as required.

  • Responsible to ensure when work/task cards are generated that they accurately describe the scheduled maintenance or routine function.

  • Performs other duties as assigned by the Sr. Director of Propulsion.
