We are looking for a Power Test Engineer. This engineer will be primarily responsible for performing post-silicon power and performance benchmarking on both NVIDIA and competitive GPUs that spans various notebook, desktop, SoC, and workstation platforms. Once the test data is compiled, s/he will be required to provide comprehensive data analysis for our internal SW, HW, sales, and marketing teams. Other responsibilities include writing and maintaining our Perl/Python scripts to automate the testing process and creating utilities to improve the team's workflow efficiency.

What you'll be doing:

  • Configure computer systems with appropriate hardware and software in order to carry out power (and performance) testing on various GPU products

  • Wire devices-under-test and connect them to data acquisition hardware such as Agilent and NI DAQs to enable power measurements

  • Run benchmarks on various systems, including both manual testing and using our automated testing environment.

  • Analyze the data from benchmark runs, generate reports, and share them with other teams for further optimizations or marketing material

  • Identify and fix app/script/HW issues that arise during testing

  • Identify power issues and collaborate with other engineering teams to find possible solutions

  • Support product development engineers to optimize our products for maximum Perf-per-Watt

  • Provide data and analysis which will help to define the next generation GPUs

  • Perform competitive analysis of non-NVIDIA GPUs

  • Develop, implement, and maintain automation tools to improve testing efficiency

  • Work in a fast-paced environment where you will gain exposure to new technologies

What we need to see:

  • A minimum of a Bachelors of Science (or equivalent) in Electrical/Computer Engineering, Computer Science or related technical discipline and 2+ years of relevant experience

  • Excellent programming and debugging skills in a scripting language such as Perl or Python

  • Basic understanding of electrical circuit fundamentals

  • Experience with performance/power testing or optimizations

  • Experience with lab equipment such as DMMs, Agilent DAQs, National Instrument DAQs

  • Experience using Linux based systems

  • Strong skills in competitive analysis

Ways to stand out from the crowd:

  • Familiarity with NVIDIA products and technologies

  • Experience with application-based performance testing methods

  • Good debugging and analytical skills
