Description:
A Principal Engineer will support a wide range of electrical design projects. You will contribute to all aspects of the full product lifecycle: from requirements development, through preliminary design, critical design, prototype, test, and production. A Principal Engineer works independently on their assignments, and often owns responsibility for their own project cost and schedule performance, with minimal oversight from a more senior technical staff member. A Principal Engineer is often asked to engage directly with customers, and provide guidance to more junior staff.
Responsibilities:
Support development of unique power converters, batteries, and other space electronics
Perform schematic capture for PCB design
Lead design efforts among more junior engineers
Lead circuit analysis and testing
Collaboration with multi-disciplinary engineering team

Additional Skills & Qualifications:
Required:
7-12 years of experience with PCB Design
3+ years of experience developing switch-mode power supplies (SMPS)
3+ years of experience with digital, high-speed circuit design, including schematic and PCB layout
3+ years of experience with development and debug of analog or digital electronics
Schematic capture and PCB design using Cadence or Altium
Circuit analysis including worst-case analysis, SPICE simulation, stress, and FMECA
PCB fabrication, parts procurement, and assembly management
Benchtop testing and debugging
Preferred:
Experience with GaN, SiC technologies, as well as in-space technologies
Experience with firmware design in VHDL and/or Verilog
Experience with environmental testing (thermal, vacuum, EMI/EMC)
Experience developing test equipment and test automation, including test script development using Matlab, Simulink, C, or Python
Experience writing, developing, and maintaining effective documentation (drawings, build procedures, datasheets, etc.)
Familiarity with radiation effects on electronics, EEE parts plans
Experience designing products for operation in space or radiation environments
