Power Electronics Engineer

Actalent is looking for a full-time Power Electronics Engineer to support our client, a leading DoD organization, onsite in Buffalo, NY.

Responsibilities:

• Be a leader in a team of creative, independent individuals.

• Head up design individually and proposals

• Will be designing boards themselves, need to understand board layouts / component size / familiarity with the military marke

• Contribute to a collaborative and knowledgeable atmosphere where teamwork is fostered

• Contribute to the development of new products through consulting with customers and sales personnel.

• Consult on new product and market development efforts.

• Prepare successful proposal designs and concepts, along with cost and schedule estimates.

• Validate conceptual problem solutions by performing trade studies and analyses

• Create reliable designs through a comprehensive experimental development test program

• Document designs, analyses, and test results with accurate and concise reports.

• Help with interviewing and mentoring junior engineers.

Qualifications:

• Bachelor of Science in Electrical Engineering with 10+ years of experience with electrical design OR Master of Science Degree in Engineering with 8+ years' of experience with electrical design

• Experienced in designing PCB's (Spice and Altium)

• Proficient in circuit design, analysis, and testing

• Specialization in power electronics

• High voltage experience, ideally 400V and higher

• Experience working with Motor drives, Motion control, can select certain components related to power systems

• Ideally experience in Aerospace/DoD

• Ability to obtain a US Secret Clearance (active clearance NOT required for job)
