Job Summary

Performs all aspects of estimating, requiring minimal supervision.

We work with our clients on EPC as well as construction-only projects. We self-perform projects by executing direct hire labor as well as utilizing subcontractor elements. We continue to expand our services offered and build our project backlog.

Key Responsibilities

  • Develops and/or compiles discipline and multi-discipline material take-offs (MTOs)

  • Evaluates and/or develops labor rates and subcontract costs

  • Enters the information into a spreadsheet or database for inclusion in an estimate

  • Assists in the preparation of larger and more complex estimating assignments (with additional experience within one specialty)

  • Individual contributor with no subordinates

  • BS or MS graduate in Construction Management or related field is preferred, but not required

  • Field and/or project experience is a plus

  • Preferred Skills:

  • More complex estimating principles/procedures

  • Mathematical skills

  • Analytical skills

  • Interpret and understand specifications and contracts

  • Microsoft Excel

  • Microsoft Access

  • Good Verbal and written communication skills

  • Calculator

Minimum Qualifications

2 to 5 years of relevant experience is required. All applicants must be able to complete pre-employment onboarding requirements (if selected) which may include any/all of the following: criminal/civil background check, drug screen, and motor vehicle records search, in compliance with any applicable laws and regulations.

We have an opening for an Electronics Technologist/Senior Electronics Technologist. You will provide technical support for the deployment, maintenance, and operation of pulsed power equipment in support of the experimental program at the National Ignition Facility (NIF). NIF is a 24/7 operational facility and is the world's most powerful and energetic laser. This position may at times require shift flexibility accomplish goals. This position is in the Laser Systems Engineering and Operations (LSEO) Division, within the Engineering Directorate. This position will be filled at either the 531.2 or 531.3 level depending on your qualifications. Additional job responsibilities (outlined below) will be assigned if you are selected at the higher level. Essential Duties * Perform routine maintenance and troubleshooting of moderately complex pulsed power equipment. * Work independently, from well understood sketches, mechanical drawings, electronic schematics, verbal or written instructions, and solve moderately complex problems to the sub-system or component level. * Work with System Managers to provide general technical support for installations, modifications, testing, analysis, troubleshooting, maintenance and commissioning of Pulsed Power equipment independently, under general supervision. * Utilize proprietary LLNL Integrated Computer Control System (ICCS) software. * Acquire and analyze basic data and test results using known performance parameters to report results and identify problems. * Interface with vendors to identify and resolve moderately complex technical issues. * Manage the Pulsed Power Group spares and databases under the general supervision of the System Managers. * Work overtime and/or weekends as needed to meet department goals. * Perform other duties as assigned. In Addition, at the 531.3 Level * Design, develop and modify circuits, software and/or systems of advanced complexity; ; establishing advanced methods of data collection, in-depth analysis/evaluation, and reporting results. * Lead daily work scope activities of other technicians, managing and leading complex projects including those that interface with other subsystems; function as work control supervisor for PPOPS (Pulsed Power Operations) * Write or interpret specifications used in crafting, maintaining, and calibrating complex electronic systems, chassis, or components and develop and author procedures and manuals under minimal supervision.- * Prepare and develop technical reports, daily and monthly progress reports, describing technical accomplishments and other aspects of relevant facility operations. Qualifications * Associate degree in an engineering technology such as electronics or equivalent combination of education and previous relevant experience. * Knowledge of the full life cycle of moderately complex systems hardware and operation software including testing, analysis, installation and maintenance. * Experience working in a large-scale manufacturing or scientific research facility operations environment including working with vendors. * Detailed knowledge, skills, and abilities working with well understood moderately complex electronic circuits and systems, independently, under general supervision. * Experience in safe work and business practices. * Experience working in a multi-disciplinary team environment. * Effective written and verbal communication and presentation skills. * Ability to work overtime and/or weekend shifts when necessary. In Addition, at the 531.3 Level * Advanced understanding and experience providing advanced technical support to complex systems hardware and operation software. * Experience providing guidance or leading technical projects and/or the work of others. * Experience writing or interpreting advanced technical specifications for complex electronic systems and/or components including preparation of procedures, manuals, and technical reports under minimal supervision.
