The day-to-day Viasat is looking for an experienced Power Converter/Analog Design Engineer to join our growing company. In this dynamic role you will have the opportunity to design, develop, and test analog and DC/DC power converter circuits for electronics used in commercial, military, and space products.

This will include designing for the harsh environments used in military airborne/land/sea as well as space applications.

You will work in a collaborative team of electrical, systems, mechanical, manufacturing and test engineers to ensure successful product development and transfer to production. What you'll need 5+ years of direct experience in analog and power converter design (switching and linear), analysis, and test experience Proficiency using tools SPICE based or other circuit analyses programs (PSPICE, LTSPICE, HSPICE, SIMPLIS), schematic capture (Mentor Graphics Expedition, ORCAD Capture), and board layout (Mentor Graphics Expedition, Zuken) Familiarity with test equipment such as oscilloscopes, current probes, electronic loads, frequency response analyzer, and multimeters Preparing and presenting engineering design concepts and data results for peer and internal/external design reviews Bachelor's degree in electrical engineering U.S. Citizenship Up to 10% domestic travel What will help you on the job Master's degree in electrical engineering with focus on Power Electronics Active Secret or Top Secret Clearance Experience with military land/sea/air and space application and military standards Knowledge of AC to DC power conversion (power factor, multiple phase power) Working on power system architecture, specification, and trades on multi-kilowatt power systems Background working with systems, digital and RF/Microwave design engineering teams Experience supporting peer design reviews, design verification testing of engineering units and oversight of design through production Experience working with subcontractors Salary range $132,200.00 - $230,000.00 / annually At Viasat, we consider many factors when it comes to compensation, including the scope of the position as well as your background and experience.

Base pay may vary depending on job-related knowledge, skills, and experience.
