The BI Developer focuses on building and maintaining the technical data structures, reporting components and automations of the Power BI solutions. The developer will test, debug, support, maintain, and troubleshoot any data quality, visualization, or availability issues. This individual works with sensitive and protected clinical, financial, and administrative data using SQL and Power BI tools. The developer will ensure that the data is secure based on user roles. This individual will collaborate with others in roles ranging from staff to executive levels.
Responsibilities:
Data extraction, aggregation, and calculation to create datasets for the solution utilizing SQL queries, functions, and stored procedures
Design and implement Data Models to support business requests, ensuring efficiency and scalability of the solution
Use the Power BI tools to design, develop and deliver accurate and complete reports, dashboards, emails and automations
Maintain and troubleshoot data visualizations and data flow automations of Dashboards, Reports and emails in Power BI, Power BI Report Server and/or Power BI Service
Work with Database Engineers to extract new EMR and/or external data into the data warehouse and optimize SQL queries for performance and efficiency
Ensure the security of datasets, reports, dashboards, and emails
Collaborate with cross-functional teams and business stakeholders to understand the business needs, document the requirements, and design, build and deliver the appropriate visualizations and automations
Work with the business owners to verify the validity and accuracy of the dataset prior to deploying the solution to a production environment
Maintain data dictionaries, data catalogs and follow data governance guidelines
Drive projects to completion in a timely fashion
Ensure continuous learning to improve and acquire new skills to recommend innovative ways to support data sets and visualizations
Train new team members on data best practices, tools, and techniques, and provide mentorship to junior team members and interns to foster their professional growth
Qualifications:
Bachelor's degree in computer or health science related field or equivalent experience
5+ years' experience working with relational data
Strong skills in SQL, Power BI, Power Query, Power BI Reporting Server/Service
Demonstrated experience in designing reports, dashboards and automation
Adept in building, testing, validation, debugging and maintaining solutions
Strong ability to collaborate with others to understand the data and design requirements
Proven skills in Power BI, Power Query and Power BI Reporting Server/Service
Proven skills in Microsoft Office suite, especially Excel
Ability to communicate with customers in a clear concise, professional, and effective manner
Exceptional analytical, conceptual, and problem-solving abilities
Preferred: 3+ years working with healthcare data
Python skills preferred
Location: Remote, must live in one of the following states, Florida, Georgia, Alabama, South Carolina, North Carolina, Kentucky or Arkansas
Hours: Monday - Friday, 40 hours per week
Compensation: Experience, education and tenure may be considered along with internal equity when job offers are extended.
