A Business Intelligence/Data professional is needed for building dashboards and spearheading Power BI initiatives for the Jefferies Technology organization. Responsible for design, configuration, implementation, and maintenance of Power BI reports. This position offers the opportunity to interact with diverse teams and architect solutions in the form of dashboards. These dashboards are used to analyze and interpret information associated with inventory assets, financial data, and various IT projects and initiatives. Also, the individual should be able to create and maintain accurate documentation for these reports.

This position also provides an opportunity for creating data lakes, as well as transforming, cleaning, and analyzing data. Individual must be able to design the schema and implement various procedures to meet business requirements. Also must be versed in ETL development to create the dataflows needed by the Power BI reports.

Required Skills:

  • Strong Power BI knowledge. Must be able to make data sourcing decisions and analyze the data in Query Editor. Must be familiar with enhanced DAX and other Power BI manipulative functions such as joins, transformations, aggregations, data modelling, relationships, etc.

  • Knowledge of Power BI Gateway for automating the data refresh procedures in Power BI.

  • The ability to create Report Distributions using workspaces.

  • Strong SQL background and the ability to write stored procedures.

  • Proficiency in building and deploying SSIS packages for ETL processes.

  • Knowledge of SQL Server for scheduling jobs.

  • Strong analytical and troubleshooting skills.

  • The ability to migrate reports from other platforms to Power BI.

  • High level of proficiency with Microsoft Excel, including pivots and slicers/filters.

  • Strong data visualization skills, that is, the ability to organize and present data so it can be easily interpreted.
