Pothole Lead:

The Pothole Lead plays a critical role in ensuring the safety and functionality of road networks by promptly addressing pothole issues and implementing proactive maintenance strategies. This position is responsible for overseeing the identification, reporting, and repair of potholes within a designated area. This role requires technical expertise, managerial skills, and community engagement to effectively manage pothole repair operations and promote road quality and safety.

  • Communicate proactively with stakeholders regarding road maintenance activities.

  • Ensure compliance with safety regulations during repair operations.

  • Implement best practices for traffic control and work zone safety.

  • Stay informed about industry standards and technological advancements in road maintenance.

  • Assist in conducting routine inspections and accurately reporting pothole locations.

  • Coordinate pothole repair activities and assist in resource management.

  • Provide on-site assistance during repair operations to ensure safety and quality.

  • Support the management of a technician team, including task assignment and supervision.

  • Contribute to maintaining a positive work environment within the team.

  • Help maintain records and analyze data for pothole management.

  • Respond to public inquiries and engage in community outreach for road safety initiatives.

Requirements:

  • High school diploma or equivalent; additional certifications in construction are a plus.

  • Must hold a valid Driver's License.

  • DOT Medical Card and Class A CDL with tanker endorsements.

  • Ability to stand or walk for extended periods, with repeated lifting (up to 50 lbs.), kneeling, crawling, climbing, and reaching.

  • In-depth knowledge of utility construction methods, proper use of tools and materials, and safety practices.

  • Good communication skills for interacting with team members and the public.

  • Prior experience in road maintenance, infrastructure management, or related fields.

  • Strong leadership skills with the ability to motivate and manage a diverse team.

  • Knowledge of relevant regulations, standards, and best practices in road maintenance and safety.
