Full-time position available for the Maternity Support Services Program in Kent. This position requires flexibility, initiative and ability to manage time, resources and client caseload.
The individual in this position works closely with new parents of infants ages (two months to one year old) that have identified risk factors. Provides services to minimize the impacts associated with risk factors and to increase the familys self-sufficiency and empowerment.
Must recognize the parent as the childs first teacher and convey the importance of early interaction as the foundation of later learning.
This position involves assisting client with accessing resources such as housing, food, clothing, childcare, transportation, education, employment, medical providers, social services, interpreter services and other related health issues with the goal of maximizing the new childs health and well-being.
Qualifications and/or Education:
AA/AS/BA in Social/Human Services and two years of health and/or social services experience working with the childbearing family
Under the direction of an LICSW, follows up on clients in their homes and carries out basic teachings to ensure healthy development of family and infant, utilization of medical care and provide referrals to community resources
Must be bilingual in Spanish/English
Must have access to an insured vehicle and be able to make home visits
