GUIDANCE COUNSELOR

Bilingual (Spanish / Creole) Preferred

We are seeking a talented, dynamic, and innovative Guidance Counselor who has the passion of supporting students through academic, personal and career advisement. The candidate must demonstrate a commitment to innovation and interdisciplinary methods of counseling while collaborating with all stakeholders.

Duties include but are not limited to:

• Support the social, emotional, and behavioral development of all students in the

areas of self awareness, self management, social awareness, relationship skills.

• Support responsible decision making within the scope of the district's long-term goals of

increasing graduation rate, career goals and reducing chronic absenteeism.

• Address adverse childhood trauma in accordance with federal, state, and district policies through administrative support, data analysis, small group instruction, unique scenarios when a student needs individual support.

• Other related duties as assigned.

Minimum Qualifications: NYS School Counselor Certification

Immediate Supervisor: Mr. Paul Sibblies, Wyandanch Memorial High School Principal

Duration: 2024-2025 School Year

Salary: Per WTA Contract
