Objectives of this Role: Lead original scientific studies in heliospheric physics. Participate in mission and instrumentation planning and development for future missions.
Develop new ideas that advances understanding of the physical processes in the inner heliosphere. Collaborate with SwRI diverse research teams and publish in high impact, peer-reviewed journals. Work on the science of the HIS instrument onboard the Solar Orbiter mission.
Daily and Monthly Responsibilities: Participate and carry out original research in experimental space physics. Publish original research in peer-reviewed articles and present results at relevant meetings.
Support the development of instruments to be flown on upcoming heliophysics or planetary missions. Interact with SwRI Staff engaged in a broad range of observational, computational, and theoretical research in the physics of the heliosphere. Requirements: Requires a PhD in Space Physics, Plasma Physics or related field. 0 years: Coding in Python or IDL A valid/clear driver's license is required.
