Postdoctoral Research Fellow

Creighton University is seeking to hire a Postdoctoral Research Fellow in the Biomedical Sciences department.

• Main research focus is to understand the relationship between specific transmembrane receptors, integrins, and the Usher proteins during inner ear development, and their mechanism of action.

• Additional duties include training graduate and undergraduate students.

• Molecular basis of Usher syndrome during inner ear development.

• Role of integrins during inner ear development and their involvement in Usher protein function

• Identifiation of small molecule therapies to protect against acquired hearing loss

Qualifications

• Doctorate Degree

• 1-3 years of experience

• Experience in handling and working with rodents

• Excellent microdissection skills. Organ of Corti microdissection is desirable but not required

• Some confocal microscopy knowledge is also desirable.

• Expertise in electrophysiology and in the hearing field is a plus
