A Postdoctoral research position in Dept of Surgery, Orthopaedic service at MSKCC is available immediately to study the molecular genetics and epigenetics associated with rare tumors, and explore therapeutic interventions that may help patients with these rare tumors. We are currently targeting rare tumors that standard cytotoxic chemotherapy agents are generally ineffective, utilizing cell lines as well as PDX animal models.


As part of the training experience, the postdoctoral fellow will obligatorily participate in activities including lab research meetings and seminars. The postdoctoral fellow is expected to gain expertise, productivity and scientific independence in the area of cancer genetics.

Qualifications:
Required credential: Doctor degree in medical sciences, especially in a cancer biology and/or cancer genetics-related field, skilled at molecular biology assays, gene manipulation, and assessments of proliferation, and cell cycle, experience with mouse tumor models of human xenografts are required.
Experience in high-throughput genomic data analysis and pharmacology are desired.

Do you want to gain experience in a dynamic setting? We are seeking a Research Project Associate (RPA) for our team within the Urology Service in the Department of Surgery. As an integral member of the research team and in compliance with all regulatory, institutional, and departmental requirements, as an RPA you will: * Perform data collection, quality control and data analysis for research projects, databases, and research protocols within MSKCC. * Be responsible for data/project management activities and for data accuracy and integrity associated with clinical research within the Urology Service team. * Anticipate the impact of special needs or requests of existing projects and implement plans to meet these needs. * Design and/or enhances databases, data forms and tools to facilitate data collection. * Implement policies and procedures to ensure the highest quality management of research projects and databases. * Take the administrative leadership role for facilitating weekly research team meeting and following up on required action items. * Generate and present reports to CRM, PI and collaborating Investigators. * Assist in the development of study abstracts, posters, manuscripts and presentations. * Participate in special projects and task forces as determined by management. You need: * A High School Diploma/GED with experience in clinical research or applicable experience. * Bachelor's degree preferred. * Knowledge of Access and SPSS strongly preferred. * Comprehensive knowledge and understanding of the regulations pertaining to human subject protection, Good Clinical Practice and other clinical research essential. * Detail-oriented, strong written and verbal communication, ability to multitask, and excellent time management skills strongly preferred. * A self-starter/be able to turn operationalized ideas and suggestions from research team. * Must be able to work independently as well as collaborate with others.
