Position Qualification
Position Summary
An immediate post-doctoral position is available to study mechanisms of alcohol-associated liver disease including lipid droplet trafficking and liver metastasis of colorectal cancer. The work involves the use in vivo rodent models of alcohol-induced organ injury and in vitro approaches using cells lines and the isolation and culturing of primary hepatocytes and non-parenchymal liver cells.
The successful candidate will become proficient with handling rats and mice. Candidates will be involved in the collection, analysis, and interpretation of experimental data; presentation of data at national meetings; manuscript preparation, and grant writing.
Required Qualifications
Candidate must possess a PhD degree and have expertise in cell culture and animal work (preferably with experience in breeding, ip/iv injections, and blood collections) as well as a variety of laboratory assays including western blot analysis, molecular biology techniques, immunohistochemistry, confocal microscopy, and other biochemical assessments. Strong verbal and written communication skills and ability to work independently and as a part of a team, working knowledge of Word, Excel, PowerPoint, GraphPad Prism, and Image and Statistical analysis software is required.
Candidate should have first author publications in peer-reviewed journals and should have the ability to write research papers and grants.
