Qualifications:

  • Ph.D. in physiology, cell biology, biochemistry, molecular biology or a related field
  • Experience in the study of animal physiology, specifically related to in vivo and in vitro cardiovascular models.
  • Experience in cell culture, basic molecular biology and cell signaling, and genomic data analysis and interpretation.
  • Be highly motivated, be able to work both independently and collaboratively.
  • Show excellent critical thinking, scholarly ability, and communication skills.

Postdoctoral Research Fellow position available in cardiovascular research at LSU Health Sciences Center Shreveport. The laboratory of Dr. Diana Cruz-Topete at the Department of Physiology is recruiting a postdoctoral fellow in the areas of cardiovascular endocrinology, sex-differences in cardiac function and disease, and stress signaling and aging. Specific research areas of interest include stress hormone receptors gene expression regulation and the impact of the activation of the stress response during the aging process.
