The J&J IM Discovery, Product Development, & Supply (DPDS) Postdoctoral Fellowship Program helps early career scientists gain the training and experience needed to further their careers while addressing the needs of global healthcare. Postdocs work side-by-side with DPDS scientists on innovative research projects and have the opportunity to present and publish their work. They also learn the functional role of scientists in the pharmaceutical industry and receive valuable career advice from mentors while building a network of professional contacts and developing the skills needed to advance their careers.

The Lead Discovery and Molecular Pharmacology group is seeking a Postdoctoral Fellow with training in cellular biology, biochemistry, and/or biophysics to join the DNA-encoded library (DEL) team at the Spring House research site. The candidate will be a key member of the DEL team within the Lead Discovery and Molecular Pharmacology group at JNJ. They should be an innovative, self-motivated, and a productive problem solver who is capable of multi-tasking in a fast paced and collaborative environment.

The JNJ DEL team consists of individuals with diverse backgrounds and expertise who collaborate to lead drug discovery campaigns against targets representing all of JNJ's therapeutic areas. As a post-doctoral fellow in this team, you will work on the frontier of DNA encoded library technology to lead the development of novel strategies to screen and leverage cell surface targets using DNA encoded libraries, critically enhancing JNJ's internal capabilities. To accomplish this, you will collaborate with a multi-disciplinary team and have the full support of the organization during the duration of the post-doctoral training program.

The anticipated start date for this role is October 14th, 2024.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Design and implement cellular DNA-encoded library selection strategies

  • Collaborate across multiple therapeutic and functional areas in the US, Europe and Asia.

  • Attend in-house seminars and external scientific meetings as appropriate.

  • Publish research in high-quality journals.
