The Department of Leadership, Research, and Foundations in the College of Education at the University of Colorado Colorado Springs invites applications for a postdoctoral associate.
This position provides an opportunity to participate in multiple research projects in education, including researcher-practitioner partnerships; program evaluation projects; large-scale data analyses; and others. The postdoctoral associate will collaborate with department faculty to develop grant proposals and will participate in different phases of various projects including study design; data collection; data analysis; and publication of results.
The postdoctoral associate will be encouraged to develop their own research agenda within the scope of faculty projects as well as their own proposals for external funding. The postdoctoral associate will have an opportunity to teach; lead research projects in their area of interest; collaborate with professors with varied interests (e.g., international education, mentoring, innovative school reform and teacher instruction, college student success, impact of policy, research methodology); and apply sophisticated multi-method research techniques to address problems of practice.
This position is currently funded for one year. It may be extended if additional funding is secured.
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:
Strong knowledge and interest in education settings;
Familiarity with the literature on education;
Ability to work collaboratively;
Interest in pursuing independent and collaborative policy-oriented research in the field of public education;
Strong qualitative data collection (e.g., interviewing) and analysis skills, including experience with collaborative qualitative analysis software; OR
Strong quantitative analysis skills, up to and including multiple regression analysis;
Experience working on large-scale team-based projects;
Proficiency in both qualitative and quantitative research methods;
Excellent interpersonal, verbal and written communication;
Strong organizational skills
For the purposes of FLSA, this position has been determined to be exempt from (not eligible for) overtime under FLSA.
The annual salary for this position is $50,000

A Ph.D. from an accredited institution in the field of education, e.g., education policy; research design; evaluation; and statistics; or a closely related field.
A track record of publication
Experience in qualitative data collection (e.g., interviewing) and analysis skills, including experience with collaborative qualitative analysis software; OR
Experience in quantitative analysis skills, up to and including multiple regression analysis
Experience writing grants
Experience in both qualitative and quantitative research methods
