For fifty years the Ostrom Workshop has been an interdisciplinary melting pot welcoming researchers, practitioners, and policymakers from around the world to tackle some of the hardest problems we face, including climate change, polarization, and resolving conflict over scarce resources. The tools, methodologies, and frameworks developed and deployed to better understand and address these challenges have helped shape academic and policy discourse across a range of fields.

This position is intended to provide mentored research training and experience for a post-doctoral fellow whose interests are aligned with the field of Environmental Governance, which could include: climate change adaptation, community resilience, sustainable development, environmental protection, and dispute resolution. The post doc fellow will work under the mentorship of core faculty at the Ostrom Workshop, including Professors James Farmer, Jessica Steinberg, and Diana Ojeda.

This postdoctoral appointment will be for one year with option to renew for one additional year. Start date is expected to be August 2024 but is negotiable. Please submit a CV and cover letter as part of the application process.

Basic Qualifications

The Ostrom Workshop is currently accepting applications for a postdoctoral research position. The successful candidate will have a Ph.D., or other terminal doctoral degree, in one of the following areas: Ecology, Environmental Governance, Climate Change, Public Policy, Political Science, Geography, Computer Science, Informatics, Law, Business, Ethics, Media Studies, Anthropology, Sociology, Education, Psychological and Brain Sciences, or International Relations.
