Position Summary:

Under limited supervision, provide efficient and timely U.S. and intra-campus mail distribution and delivery services for the university and collaboratively assist with the day-to-day operational aspects of the University post office.

Requirements:Duties and Responsibilities:
  • Utilize knowledge of postal and university rules, regulations, and policies in mail preparation and delivery

  • Maintain mail safety and prompt delivery of mail on campus and to main US post office

  • Provide regular pick-up and delivery services for the campus

  • Promote public relations through daily pick-up and delivery of mail

  • Train and monitor assigned mail route substitutes

  • Operate and monitor the maintenance of mail delivery vehicle

  • Ensure adherence to federal and university policies, protection of the mail, quality service, and welfare of customers

  • Maintain, detect and report evidence of malfunctions on operational equipment

  • Assist in coordinating activities of workers engaged in collecting, sorting and delivering mail

  • Assist at the front window as needed

  • Regular and predictable attendance required

  • Perform other duties as assigned

Minimum Job Requirements:

  • A high school diploma or equivalent certificate and a minimum of six months experience directly related to the duties specified is required
  • A valid New Mexico Driver's License or the ability to obtain one within 30 days of employment is also required, as well as the ability to safely operate a motor vehicle in all kinds of weather and road conditions

  • Ability to follow routine verbal and written instructions

  • Ability to effectively manage time and schedules

  • Records maintenance skills

  • Ability to understand and follow safety procedures

  • Ability to sort and/or distribute mail

  • Ability to read, sort, check, count, and verify numbers

  • Ability to understand and follow security and confidentiality guidelines

Working Conditions: Physical Demand and Working Conditions:

  • Work is performed inside and requires walking and standing for extended periods to deliver mail. Route deliveries require exposure to the outside elements.

  • Work is medium in nature that at times requires exerting up to 50 pounds of force occasionally and/or negligible amount of force frequently or constantly to lift, carry, push, pull or otherwise move objects.

Requirements: Duties and Responsibilities: * Review and assure compliance with sponsor, state and ENMU rules and regulations for all submitted proposals * Serve as the Authorized Institutional Representative (AIR) for all grant and contract submissions. * As AIR, accept awards and contractual agreements on behalf of the institution, assure grants and contract comply with federal, state and ENMU rules and regulations, and serves as liaison to funding agencies and organizations for project administration. * In collaboration with the Assistant Vice President for Research and Graduate Dean, create and maintain institutional policies and procedures related to grants and contracts, including all pre-award processes and, in cooperation with the Business Office, the development of post-award processes related to account establishment, time and effort certification, and audit review. * Prepare reports documenting annual submissions, awards, grant and contract expenditures, indirect recovery and expenditures, and others as requested by the Assistant Vice President for Research and Graduate Dean. * Assist with reviewing/editing institutional grants. * Perform other duties as assigned.
