Spotify is becoming an overall audio and video experience with the addition of our Originals team. We're looking for a highly motivated Post Production Engineer with expert skills who is committed to thrive in this opportunity of technical influence and leadership. In this role, you will be responsible for driving the media management planning, integrating new systems and supporting our Studios team as we scale. Developing our shared storage, archive and MAM will be the primary focus of this role. This position is based out of Los Angeles and will report to the Head of Post Production. There will be occasional travel for this role.


  • Oversee media asset coordinators and media ingest roles

  • Create roadmaps for media employees to stay productive and working towards our goals

  • Hold employees accountable to their schedules and approve timecards

  • Provide guidance to production teams regarding set asset management for videos and podcasts

  • Manage NAS/Archive/MAM and troubleshoot with manufacturers when needed

  • Assess media workflow, provide solutions/updates and create plans of action.

  • Build Instructional documentation for outsourced partners that provide Spotify with content and vice versa

  • Partner with external post tech vendors to gain information that future proofs our department as we scale

  • Maintain hardware/software support contracts

  • Develop MAM metadata schemas

  • Build automated MAM workflows alongside software engineers

  • Maintain and service computer stations alongside Spotify IT team

  • Organize, barcode and create check-in/out system for post production inventory

  • Create business cases around scaling our NAS system and purchasing new post technology

  • Support operations and creative roles working within the MAM system

  • Plan and propose new workflows that can optimize our deliveries

  • Purchase media overhead equipment such as hard drives, cables, racks, and more


  • 7 + years of Media Management experience

  • Mandatory 5+ years experience of working in MAM/Shared Storage/Archive environments

  • Must have interpersonal team management skills

  • Self starter and driven leader

  • Accountable in high pressure situations

  • Superior organizational skills

  • Music lovers a plus!

JOB DESCRIPTION Post Production Biller - Fox Audio Services This position is responsible for the oversight, actualizing and billing of completed work orders to ensure revenue is recognized within the proper fiscal period. Responsibilities * Locate existing jobs in Xytech and actualize/process work orders within jobs * Complete work orders utilizing operator notes adding additional transactions and/or bill codes * Verify transactions input by Schedulers and/or Operators * Verify PO amounts are not in excess of charges Flag overages to Scheduling for revised PO * Follow up with Scheduling Team's on open issues related to unbilled work orders to include: coding information, purchase orders, close of jobs once completed (invoiced through PeopleSoft) * Run weekly reports in Xytech to track open work orders * Run additional reports as needed by Operations * Additional responsibilities as assigned or requested Job Requirements * 3 to 5 years experience billing in a Post Production environment * Bachelors degree preferred * Prior experience with Xytech Enterprise/Media Pulse scheduling program is required * Prior accounting/booking experience helpful Good communication and organizational skills We are an equal opportunity employer and all qualified applicants will receive consideration for employment without regard to race, color, religion, sex, national origin, gender identity, disability, protected veteran status, or any other characteristic protected by law.
