Post Processing Technician

  • 2nd Shift

SHIFT: 2nd, 3 pm

  • 11:30 pm

Using various hand tools, the post processing technician completes the production process by removing the masking, deburring coating edges and ensuring the coating is ready for final inspection. This position requires high attention to detail as well as good hand dexterity to ensure no damage is done to the part or coating.

Primary Responsibilities:

  • Review job folder to verify area of part to be post processed

  • Perform visual inspection of parts for defects prior to post processing

  • Perform appropriate post processing per work instructions and job folder

  • Record and sign off on all applicable data defined in the job folder

  • Report all processing problems, inaccuracies in job folder, damaged parts and/or post processing materials to Post Processing Lead.

  • Follow in-process inspection procedures as needed to verify current operation meets customer and job folder requirements.

  • Observe all Environment, Health and Safety Policy requirements

  • Keeping work area neat and orderly at all times

  • Wearing Personal Protective Equipment (PPE)

  • Disposal of waste per safety standards

Key Performance Measurements:

  • Completion of assigned post processing per standard in job folder

  • Accurate documentation of required data within job folder

  • Attention to detail with a focused goal of zero rework

  • Maintaining a clean and safe work area

  • Excellent record of attendance with ability to work overtime as needed

  • Assisting supervisor in developing processes that will improve operations

  • 100% on-time delivery of assigned projects

  • Effective communication with lead, plant leadership, and co-workers

Physical Requirements/Working Conditions

  • Ability to perform detailed post processing on small and large parts. This requires steady hands with a high degree of attention to detail.

  • Machine tools and hand tools used extensively to take away overspray

  • Most work performed while sitting (80%) in a well-lit area

  • May require transporting parts from one area to another throughout the day (5-25 lbs.)

Minimum Qualifications:

  • High School diploma

  • Working experience in a production environment

  • Organized and accurate documentation skills with basic MS Office Understanding

Desirable Previous Experience:

  • Previous post processing experience in an industrial painting or coating operation

VIEW JOBS 4/10/2019 12:00:00 AM 2019-07-09T00:00 Production Support Specialist - 2nd shift SHIFT: 2nd, 3:00 - 11:30 pm Mon-Fri The Production Support Specialist prepares and finishes parts before and after the thermal spray process. The technician prepares customer parts for the coating process by grit blasting the surface of each part and loading parts into tooling. After the coating is applied, the technician completes post-processing work by removing masking tape and de-burring the edges of the coating or treating the surface. This role requires use of various hand tools, good hand-eye coordination and dexterity. Tactical Responsibilities * Grit blast or complete post-processing steps on customer parts per technical plan. * Refer to production schedule to manage time and ensure assigned booths always have parts grit-blasted and ready for coating. * Respond to production needs by alternating between grit blasting and post-processing work as required. * Comprehend technical plans and be able to provide feedback as needed. * Assist in other work areas as assigned by supervisor. * Record and sign off on all applicable process steps defined in the job folder. * Report all problems, inaccuracies in job folder details, damaged parts and materials issues to direct supervisor. * Inspect and maintain tooling in order to ensure the accurate completion of the grit blast process. * Follow in-process inspection procedures as needed to verify current operation meets the technical plan and work instruction requirements. * Make appropriate and safe use of materials, consumables, process supplies and equipment. * Observe all Environmental, Health and Safety Policy requirements: * Keeping work area neat and orderly at all times * Wearing safety glasses in identified areas * Wearing protective gloves when working with solvents/chemicals * Wearing appropriate respiratory gear when in thermal spray booth Key Performance Measurements * Completion of assigned operations in a timely, accurate manner * Accurate documentation of required data within the job folder * Attention to detail with a focused goal of zero rework * Maintaining a clean and safe work area: * Following principles of 5S * Zero work related lost time injuries * Excellent record of attendance with ability to work overtime as needed * Assisting supervisor in developing processes that will improve operations * 100% on-time delivery of assigned projects * Effective communication with supervisor, plant leadership and co-workers; Physical Requirements/Working Conditions: Ability to lift and carry 20-50 lb fixtures up to 60 times a day to load fixtures into grit blaster Ability to work while standing and walking for up to 10-hours per day Qualifications: * High School diploma * Working experience in a production environment * Good communication skills with co-workers and management * Organized and accurate documentation skills with basic MS Office understanding Desirable: * Previous experience in an industrial painting or coating operation We are located at: 1780 Anderson Blvd Hebron, KENTUCKY, 41048 United States Ellison Surface Technologies is an Equal Opportunity/Affirmative Action Employer.
