This position is responsible for 3D and Post Processing medical imaging from modalities such as CT, MRI, Nuclear Medicine. These will initially be employed for advanced clinical care in Cardiac, Musculoskeletal, and Neuroradiology with future growth to Abdominal, Interventional Radiology, Vascular, Nuclear Medicine and Mammography, sections for the Department of Radiology and Imaging Sciences. Applicant will use a variety of software packages under the supervision of a radiologist to analyze and post process patient images, create 3D reconstructions, and perform requisite quantitative analysis working in conjunction with technologists to meet the clinical needs of the reading physicians. The analyst will be a clinical service liaison between the ordering services and the radiologist to streamline and fast track clinical care using advanced post processing tools.

Responsibilities

  • Assists with the functions and workflow of the multidisciplinary 3D lab, to include manipulation of digital CT and MRI images on highly sophisticated 3D workstations for clinical visualization and analysis of diagnostic studies.

  • Coordinates acquisitions for specific post processing tasks with the CT and MR technologists to optimize 3D post processing quality.

  • Manages the transfer of image data to and from the 3D lab workstations in an accurate and timely manner. To produce 3D volumetric images for physician review utilizing appropriate software applications. Including checking supplies, maintaining equipment, troubleshooting equipment problems, and contacting appropriate service.

  • Integrating output from post processing services back to PACS or delivery to clinical services.

  • Provides operational benchmarking and report creation for department leadership.

Knowledge / Skills / Abilities

  • Knowledge of anatomy (especially cardiovascular, neuroanatomy, vascular, orthopedic), good pattern-recognition skills.

  • Demonstrates strong communication skills for interfacing with radiologists and clinicians to optimize visualization.

  • Experience and knowledge of 3D post processing and other imaging support systems: PACS, TerraRecon, CVI-42, Olea 3.0 SP23, VIZ AI, Mimics Materialise, NeuroQuant Cortech labs.

  • Experience with open-source 3D visualization tools a bonus, but not require

  • Ability to learn new software packages as they are added.

Qualifications

Required

  • High school diploma or GED.

  • Experience as a super-user of 3D post processing software packages, such as TerraRecon, Olea, Mimics.

Qualifications (Preferred)

Preferred

  • Three (3) years of clinical imaging experience preferred, but not required.

  • Clinical and prior radiology and imaging experience strongly considered as requisite experience.

  • CAD skills considered as additional desired skills.

  • Occasional use of vision to identify and distinguish colors.

  • Occasional bending, stooping, squatting, twisting and repetitive foot/leg and hand/arm movements.

  • Rare kneeling and sitting.
