Post Doctoral Research Fellow Weed Management

The North Central Research Extension Center at North Dakota State University State University is seeking a motivated and dedicated postdoctoral fellow to join our research team. This position focuses on applied weed management in crop production. The successful candidate will work on innovative research projects aimed at developing and implementing advanced weed management strategies to improve the sustainability and productivity of North Dakota crops. The candidate will collect, analyze, and interpret data related to weed biology, ecology, and management. Writing research and outreach articles and publishing in peer-reviewed journal and Extension bulletins is expected. The candidate will have the opportunity to contribute to securing grant support for the program.

Work Schedule: This is a 12 month position.

Minimum Qualifications:

• An earned Ph.D. in weed science, plant science, agronomy or closely related field

• Ability to work independently on solving complex problems

• Ability to be collegial as part of a diverse team of collaborators

• Effective oral and written communication skills

• Ability to work independently and as part of a multidisciplinary team

Preferred Qualifications:

• Experience working with ND crops, diverse cropping systems

• Research experience in field, lab and greenhouse settings

• Demonstrated record of completing research projects and publishing research in peer-reviewed journals

• Prior research experience in applied weed science techniques and principles
