The Poultry Behavior and Welfare Laboratory (Department of Poultry Science) at the University of Georgia (UGA) is seeking a postdoctoral researcher with interests in animal welfare and behavior. The research is focused on investigating underlying mechanisms to stress-induced changes in behavioral phenotype in chicken and will be conducted in collaboration with investigators from UGA, Colorado State University, University of Arkansas, and University of California-Davis. The candidate should have a recent Ph.D preferably in animal welfare and behavioral biology or related disciplines such as cognitive neurobiology and physiology. An expertise in molecular biology techniques including serological assay, immunohistochemistry, gene expression assays, and microbiome analysis is favored. The candidate is expected to be actively involved in experimental design, data collection, data analysis and preparation of manuscripts. The candidate will have the opportunity to pursue independent research and mentor graduate students.
Relevant/Preferred Education, Experience, Licensure, Certification in Position
A Ph.D. in Animal/Poultry Welfare, Behavioral Biology, or any related fields mentioned in the Position Summary.
