The successful candidate will research results of this project in secure and safe autonomy to reach a high Technology Readiness Level (TRL) to be applied to testing and evaluation of autonomous vehicles in UAM.
i)They conduct research in development of data-driven methods for testing and evaluation of algorithms with application to aerospace domain.
Ii)Develop correct-by-design algorithms that guarantee a-priori specifications on the operation of aerial vehicles.
iii) Design and conduct experiments to test and validate algorithms and systems.
They supervise graduate student research, participate in proposal and manuscript writing, and coordinate student collaborations among North Carolina A&T State University and Purdue University and Georgia Tech as well as industry partners.
They will participate in departmental seminars and other professional activities as assigned.

The Autonomous Control and Information Technology (ACIT) Institute is committed to promoting interdisciplinary research in autonomous control engineering and its various applications.
NC A&T has a notable history as a leading HBCU for engineering, which contributes to our success in securing research grants.
Presently, the ACIT Institute is supporting over several significant funded grants, several of which are led by Dr. Abdollah Homaifar, who has been at the forefront of ACIT's cutting-edge research for over three decades.
The Institute provides research support in autonomous and intelligent systems, such as autonomous vehicles, robotics, vision systems, and decision-making systems.
Furthermore, the Institute facilitates simulation and validation of algorithms that are developed for intelligent and cooperative control of distributed agents, including teams of Unmanned Aerial Vehicles (UAVs) and mobile robots.
Minimum Requirements
A PhD awarded or being defended within the last five years in ECE, Aeronautical or related areas, specializing in Machine Learning.
Preferred Years Experience, Skills, Training, Education
A strong (experimental and theoretical) background with evidence of (experimental)(theoretical) skills related to data representation, data management and learning,.
Required License or Certification Is this position eligible for a remote or hybrid work arrangement, consistent with university and state policies.
