The lab pursues basic discovery and translational research in cancer biology. Postdoc position(s) is immediately available to study the interactions between obesity, oncogenic translatome, and the tumor microenvironment. We utilize a variety of genetically engineered mouse models to understand B-cell development and Lymphomagenesis, functional genomics and proteomics, genome editing, and innovative screening platforms to study cancer biology with the ultimate goal to identify new druggable targets and effective therapeutic options. An ideal candidate should have earned a PhD in biomedical sciences with emphasis on biochemistry, molecular biology, and/or cancer biology. Candidates with strong background in vivo experience with mouse models are strongly encouraged to apply. This individual must be well organized and able to plan and execute studies in an independent manner as well as in a collaborative setting and be ready to mentor junior members of the lab. Additionally, proficiency or experience in western blotting, immunofluorescence and flow cytometry analysis is also desirable. The applicant will have an opportunity to participate in the cutting-edge collaborative research projects spanning multiple laboratories at VCU.
