Position Description

Advertised Job Summary

Postdoctoral Fellow is needed to conduct research in biological science in the area of Cell Biology/Biochemistry in order to determine the mechanisms underlying the intracellular degradation of cellular proteins.

Required Education and Experience

Ph.D. in Cell Biology or related field (i.e. Molecular Biology, Neurobiology, Biology, or similar)

Preferred Qualifications

The ability to contribute immediately to a nationally recognized research program in molecular neurobiology

Knowledge/Skills/Abilities

Ability to follow written and verbal instructions, and work independently. May have knowledge in equipment, data analysis, professional clinical processes, or other specific areas related to the field of research.

Ability to analyze and interpret data using inferential techniques. Ability to present information effectively. Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with others.

Assist with research design and implementation by performing molecular/cellular studies for axonal RNA transport & translation and intra-cellular and trans-cellular signaling

Perform molecular/cellular studies for peripheral nerve and spinal cord injuries using in vivo and in vitro models involving skilled surgical procedures on mice and rats with a dissecting microscope under sterile conditions for peripheral nerve injury, micro-injection of sensory ganglia and spinal cord, and central nerve injury in mice and rats
