Post-Doctoral Fellow

This posting is for a post-doc fellow who will contribute substantively to the research, training, and educational activities of CNS. CNS anticipates that the post-doctoral fellow will focus on nuclear nonproliferation and arms controls issues pertaining to China. This is a term-limited, full-time, position. Duration of the position is between 9 to 15 months. It is anticipated that the individual selected for the position will work at either the CNS DC or CNS Monterey office.

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities

• The candidate should have a demonstrated subject matter expertise related to Chinese arms nonproliferation and security issues.
• Reading proficiency in Mandarin Chinese is required.
• Excellent English writing and communication skills
• Expertise in both science and policy issues, including familiarity with new disruptive technologies and their security implications, is desirable but not necessary. 
• Capable of multi-tasking and working in dynamic environment.
• Organizational and project management skills essential.
• Demonstrated superior written and oral communications skills, attention to detail, and strong copy editing abilities.

Compensation for this position is $32.68/hour (CNS3A)

Requirements

Education

Ph.D. must be in hand before arrival. However, a pre-doctoral fellowship for advanced Ph.D. students will also be considered.

Experience

The candidate should have demonstrated policy or research experience related to Chinese arms control and security issues.

Physical Demands
