The purpose of this position is to spread the message of the restored Church of Jesus Christ around the world. The incumbent will perform audio post recording, editing, mixing, and mastering of various church productions. Customers include General Authorities of the Church and Church departments.
Carry out a wide range of complex audio production tasks including setting up, adjusting and operating audio equipment, both digital and analog.
Record, edit, mix, and master audio of various church productions using Pro Tools and associated software and equipment.
Create final media deliverables.
Support live audio production, including mixing audio for events and musical performances, both for front-of-house and monitors. Coordinate multi-channel wireless systems.
Remain current with trends in audio technology and techniques. Make recommendations for new, innovative, and cost-effective methods.
Assist engineering and support teams in testing and implementation of new equipment and systems.
Assist with load-in, load-out, and setup of equipment, especially on remote productions.
Instruct and tutor on-calls, interns, trainees, volunteers, and junior employees, as needed.
Work occasional evenings, weekends, holidays, and extended hours. Some travel required.
Additional responsibilities as assigned.
Bachelors, associates, or technical degree in audio recording/production discipline or equivalent experience.
Three to five years' experience in audio recording.
Proficiency working with Pro Tools, analog and digital audio consoles, peripheral equipment (limiters, compressors, reverbs, etc.).
Deep understanding of industry audio specifications and standards.
Demonstrated knowledge of time code, frame rates, the interface of sound to picture, room acoustics, microphone patterns and microphone placement.
Demonstrated ability to operate a large variety of professional sound systems.
Understanding of industry best practices in audio production and post-production.
Demonstrated ability to make good decisions in fast-paced, high-stress environment.
Self-motivated with demonstrated troubleshooting/problem-solving skills.
Excellent leadership and interpersonal skills.
Ability to learn and adapt to new platforms and systems.
Ability to meet deadlines.
Must be able to regularly lift/move objects weighing up to 50 lbs.
Endowed with current temple recommend.
Language abilities (preferred)
Experience with tie-line recording (preferred)
Must be a member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints and currently temple worthy.
