Positioning Navigation and Timing Systems Engineer, Lead

Key Role:

Provide a wide range of support to day-to-day management and assist with research and program oversight of the GPS Block II and Block III space, operational and modernized control, user segments, and other DoD PNT systems. Provide support for the NAVWAR program, the Selective Availability Anti-Spoofing Module (SAASM) Program, Nuclear Detonation (NUDET) Detection System (NDS), and various GPS modernization initiatives, including the transition to the new Cybersecurity assurance architecture for GPS, the development and procurement of M-Code user equipment, transition from legacy to modernized user equipment, augmentations to GPS, such as pseudolites, improved inertial systems, better frequency standards or clocks, anti-jam antennas or antenna electronics, and other NAVWAR electronic protection, electronic support, and electronic attack capabilities as necessary for NAVWAR compliance certification of DoD integrated PNT systems. Provide support to research and system engineering oversight and coordination for the various DoD GPS, PNT, and NAVWAR development activities. Conduct research, assessments, and analyses related to spectrum and frequency management issues affecting GPS civil and military frequency assignments.

Basic Qualifications:

  • 10+ years of experience with GPS or PNT
  • 5+ years of experience with DoD acquisition or engineering
  • TS/SCI clearance required
  • BA or BS degree required

Additional Qualifications:

  • Experience with prior military or civil service in the government

  • Experience in a Headquarters

  • Experience with JCIDS, DAS, or PPBE processes

  • MA or MS degree preferred

Work with world-class scientists and engineers in driving forward research to develop new applications for novel technologies and transition cutting-edge science and engineering for new and existing applications to programs of record. Apply Position, Navigation, and Timing (PNT) knowledge and expertise in the exploration of new technology concepts and the identification of knowledge gaps in need of investment, and assist with monitoring and managing program progress for performance, risks, and issues. Produce and present findings and recommendations to a team of colleagues and clients, assist with technical program management and program development, and brief materials out for government research and development (R&D) efforts.
