Job Summary

This is an analyst position within the investment management team and the primary role is to support all aspects of the portfolio management process for a portfolio of commercial mortgage-backed securities (CMBS). The analyst will work closely with the Portfolio Manager by providing analytical support to assist in the purchase, sale, monitoring, administration, and reporting of investments. The position is located in El Segundo, CA. Nassau CorAmerica is an asset management and investment firm specializing in commercial real estate. The company is a diversified real estate investment and asset management firm providing clients with access to a range of investment strategies with an emphasis on public and private commercial real estate debt

This position cannot be performed remotely/ Any candidates not located in the area will not be considered without a cover letter addressing potential relocation.

Principal Duties and Responsibilities

  • Responsible for daily data aggregation, including the extraction, organization, and scrubbing of various data sets

  • Prepare daily, weekly, monthly, and quarterly portfolio related reports, both for internal and external use

  • Develop and maintain various databases to track portfolio and market related data

  • Assist in the monitoring of the underlying investments, which will include analysis of commercial real estate properties that serve as collateral for investments

  • Responsible for all aspects of trade support including interactions with counterparties and custodians

  • Track the relevant markets and provide timely color to the Portfolio Manager

  • Prepare presentation materials for meetings with clients, prospects, and senior management

  • Perform other duties as assigned

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities

  • Bachelor's degree is required, preferably in computer science, finance, math, or engineering

  • 2+ years of related work experience

  • Excellent financial, mathematical, and statistical skills

  • Extensive knowledge of Excel techniques, languages, and systems required (Macros and VBA)

  • Database Management experience and knowledge of SQL and MS Access; prior data reporting experience preferred

  • Ability to work with structured and unstructured data from different data sources

  • Strong interest in financial markets; basic knowledge of fixed income a plus

  • Working knowledge of Bloomberg preferred

  • Excellent attention to detail, analytical and problem-solving ability

  • Ability to multitask and meet deadlines in a high-pressure environment

  • Self-starter with good communication skills

The compensation for this position falls within Nassau's salary band E: $90,000-$120,000.
