The PPM Report Architect/Developer creates, supports, and administers relational databases and reports to meet the objectives of the Enterprise Portfolio and Project Services team. This role evaluates and designs existing or proposed systems to structure and access databases. Analyzes database requirements for the user department, applications programming and operations. Recommends solutions that require definition of the physical structure and functional capabilities of databases and required data security and data backup/recovery specifications.

Responsibilities:

  • Elicits requirements, designs and develops technical solutions that meet the objectives of the business.

  • Designs efficient and repeatable reporting solutions for the Planview user community.

  • Functions independently with minimal oversight and direction.

  • May instruct and guide lower level technical professionals.

  • Assignments are broad in nature and complex in scope. Typically designs and develops approaches that are implemented by others.

  • Partners with other resources across the company on integration projects, as needed.

Knowledge/Skills:

  • Deep experience with relational databases and PPM tools and platforms.

  • Understanding of data architecture of Planview and other ancillary project and portfolio management systems in the organization.

  • Demonstrable skills with negotiation and creative problem solving

  • Ability to translate complex data to a general audience; effectively sifting through multiple data sources, analyze it, and articulate the "so what" in terms understandable to non-practitioners.

  • Expert level understanding of Project/Program/Portfolio Management methods, tools and industry trends.

  • Demonstrated ability to work effectively with cross-functional staff, including IT, other project managers, multiple levels of leadership, business partners, and vendors

  • Demonstrated ability to identify and understand problems, work collaboratively with team to bring to resolution, and balance when to escalate issues in order to meet project timelines

  • Requires a process-oriented mindset, demonstrated experience implementing and supporting technical system management.

  • Ability to prioritize work across multiple important stakeholders and communicating prioritization to the stakeholders

Qualifications:

  • 8 years' experience working with enterprise portfolio management analytics.

  • Deep understanding of database query logic and Portfolio and Project Management tools -such as Planview, Clarity, Microsoft Project Server, etc.

  • Practical experience working with multiple database solutions (SQL, Oracle, etc.)

  • Must have strong demonstrated proficiency working with the Microsoft Office Suite, (MS Access) and Portfolio and Project Management tools such as Planview, Microsoft Project Server, Clarity, or similar application is required.

  • Advanced Excel skills including VBA (Visual Basic for Applications) and Macro Development, Power Pivot, and Data reconciliation.

  • Strong communication skills required. Able to work well with end users, explaining issues and resolutions in non-technical terms and assisting in development of report requirements.

Education:

  • Bachelor's degree or MBA
  • Technical certifications (MCSE, MCSA, MySQL, etc.) is preferred

VIEW JOBS 3/22/2019 12:00:00 AM 2019-06-20T00:00 The Sr Manager, Enterprise Portfolio Management is responsible for designing, implementing, and continuously improving portfolio management across the enterprise.This position works with leaders and staff across the company to understand the projects within the portfolio and ensure initiatives are grouped, sequenced, and executed in a way that achieves the organizations business objectives. Focus for this position will be portfolio management, governance, and value/benefits realization tracking across an extensive enterprise portfolio. The portfolio manager maintains a strategic view of organizational objectives for highly complex programs/projects, understands how various projects fit within those objectives and provides advise, assistance, and leadership to improve the quality of portfolio results. Scope and Responsibilities: * Maintains an enterprise portfolio plan of record; providing transparency to the health of the portfolio and tracking progress against the plan, cross-portfolio dependencies, risks, issues, and accomplishments. * Monitors key performance indicators, to ensure business objective delivery, efficient resource deployment, effective risk/issue management, portfolio volatility, and value capture. * Works with leaders to support sequencing of the work based on availability of resources and understanding of expected outcomes. * Provides line of sight into the in-flight group of projects and enables decision making within and across the portfolio of work. * Accountability for successful analysis and management of portfolio metrics, including financials, schedule, benefits and resources for ~$250M project portfolio. * Recommends, supports and partners with leaders across the company to enable adoption for project portfolio management * Builds high performing teams, continuously assessing team performance and attracting, retaining and growing the right talent Portfolio Management * Ensure the collective outcomes of portfolio are effectively achieved and embedded within the project execution and delivery areas. * Identifies portfolio risks and supports appropriate actions to mitigate/control ensuring strong governance is fully embedded.
