Portfolio Reporting Specialist I

Overview:

The Portfolio Reporting Specialist I is an entry-level position focused on supporting default status reporting to investors, agencies, insurers, and affiliated parties. The role entails assisting with the preparation and distribution of reports, addressing investor inquiries, and maintaining data accuracy.

Primary Responsibilities:

• Assist in the generation and provision of default status reports to investors, agencies, insurers, and affiliated parties within set timeframes.

• Support responses to investor inquiries in a timely manner.

• Help analyze and correct reporting exceptions to reduce errors and ensure accurate loan reporting.

• Build foundational relationships and communicate effectively with investors, insurers, and other areas of Customer Asset Management to support reporting improvements.

• Participate in educational opportunities such as webinars, review investor bulletins, and stay updated on servicing system changes that affect reporting.

• Assist in updating procedural documentation as necessary.

• Collaborate with the automation team to support the creation and revision of department reports.

• Contribute to team projects as delegated by management.

• Comply with applicable compliance/operational risk controls in accordance with company or regulatory standards and policies.

• Uphold M&T internal control standards, including addressing internal and external audit findings promptly, along with any issues raised by external regulators, as applicable.

• Execute other related duties as assigned.

Skills / Capabilities Required

The role supports interactions with investors, agencies, insurers, and other third parties to ensure timely reporting on defaulted mortgage loans. The incumbent is expected to assist with work planning and may occasionally help coordinate the work of others.

Education and Experience Required:

A combined minimum of 2 years' higher education and/or work experience with a minimum of 1 year relevant work experience.

Some higher education and/or relevant internship or work experience.

Basic proficiency with word processing and spreadsheet software.

Familiarity with reporting concepts.

Basic analytical and problem-solving skills.

Education and Experience Preferred:

Associate degree or higher.

Exposure to M&T systems or similar financial systems.

Basic understanding of project management principles.

Physical Requirements:

M&T Bank is committed to fair, competitive, and market-informed pay for our employees. The pay range for this position is $18.00 - $28.11 Hourly (USD). The successful candidate's particular combination of knowledge, skills, and experience will inform their specific compensation.
