We are seeking a seasoned analyst or portfolio manager to support our Commercial Real Estate Lending Team. This position will be a key contributor to the implementation of the overall commercial lending plan for significant growth.
Working in partnership with the Relationship Managers, this position will be responsible for underwriting of new transactions as well as effectively managing credit relationships within the existing portfolio. The Portfolio Manager acts as a second point of contact for commercial real estate clients.
In addition, this position will provide support in management of existing commercial real estate portfolio and development of new business. Developing and analyzing all types of credit information pertaining to real estate transactions; prepare credit proposals; provide overall support to officer in managing commercial real estate portfolio.
Support the end-to-end credit management process including underwriting, structuring and documenting of loan transactions. Underwriting includes market, financial, tenant and risk analysis and development of projections.
Assist in the legal documentation, loan closing and loan funding.
Provide ongoing maintenance and management of the assigned portfolio, including updating files with current financial and rent roll information, collateral monitoring, covenant monitoring, tracking delinquencies, industry trends, and watch for developing issues.
Analyze and approve construction draw requests.
Prepare loan file for loan review purposes and recommend timely changes to risk ratings.
Assure adherence to credit policies, guidelines and applicable regulatory compliance.
Work with the Relationship Manager to develop a relationship plan and credit management strategy for key customers and loan prospects.
Bachelor's degree and accounting background are recommended. Analytical background in commercial real estate preferred but commercial lending or other analytical experience shall be considered.
Strong organizational, interpersonal, communication (both written and oral), research and computer skills, attention to detail, and ability to creatively analyze various situations and data.
Experience in the lending function and knowledge of banks policies and procedures preferred but not required.
Location: This position will require initial training in Westerly, RI with flexibility to partially work out of our Providence office or other locations.
