Responsibilities

To be successful in this role, candidates must be able to process large amounts of information, communicating in a clear and concise manner, and develop innovative solutions for our clients, all while maintaining a strong and efficient attention to detail. Key responsibilities include, but are not limited to:

  • Oversight of credit related responsibilities for the Analysts and Associates, including financial statement spreading and validation of various underwriting models

  • Responsible for risk rating assessment and periodic relationship reviews

  • Partner with Relationship Manager in credit agreement review and negotiation

  • Ownership of all credit approvals (new customers, modifications, renewals, increases, risk assessments)

  • Identification of key risks and issues pertinent to each credit request, including potential mitigants for identified risks.

  • Ownership of policy exception identification

  • Direct and manage portfolio reviews

  • Validate covenant compliance and covenant management

  • Final sign-off and approval, when applicable, on approval requests, document reviews and negotiations. Delegated credit authority may be provided to certain Portfolio Managers depending on level of experience.

  • Ownership of post-approval modifications to ensure accurate reporting of credit exposure

  • Client management, including assisting of day-to-day needs, contact meetings, and site visits. Direct client contact is expected.

  • Client management in SalesForce

  • Oversight and in-depth analysis of macroeconomic conditions, industry trends and changes in lending practices

  • Ownership of portfolio reporting and analytics: grade-migration, past-dues, exceptions, coming-due maturities, etc.

  • Identify cross-sell opportunities

  • Partner with Special Assets Group for credit requests (as needed)

  • Lead and/or support key initiatives to drive improvements in the delivery of credit solutions for clients and prospects

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Finance, Accounting, Real Estate, Commercial Banking or equivalent/relevant program

  • 5+ years' experience in Real Estate, Middle Market, Corporate or Private Wealth Banking with formal Credit training.

  • Exceptional writing, interpersonal and communication skills

  • Extraordinary levels of motivation and initiative

  • Effective team players who want to work in a fast-paced, collaborative environment and build working relationships across the organization

  • Strong Microsoft Office skills including Outlook, Excel, and PowerPoint in order to produce reports, memos, and presentations

  • Ability to live and work in, Austin

  • Proven leadership skills and community involvement

  • Passion for financial services and delivering superior client experiences

We offer a 401(k) retirement plan, student loan assistance, licensing and continuing education reimbursement, parental leave, and housing allowances or gifts.</p><p>REPORTS TO: Director, Affordable Housing Operations</p><p>SUMMARY</p><p>This position is primarily responsible for overseeing on-site operations from the corporate level across a portfolio of remote residential housing communities.</p><p>RESPONSIBILITIES (including but not limited to)</p><ul><li><p>Maintains all operational community information: vendor contacts, employee rosters, budgets, marketing strategy, etc. on a weekly and monthly basis.</p></li><li><p>Acts as the key point of contact between Cardinal HQ and the on-site teams.</p></li><li><p>Prepares and interprets reports necessary for auditing community performance.</p></li><li><p>Provides direct support to the Community Managers to ensure that all policies and procedures are followed according to best practice.</p></li><li><p>Monitors team member performance and acts as an advisor for team member development and corrective action when necessary, including oversight of bi-annual performance reviews.</p></li><li><p>Contributes to capital improvement projects as needed.</p></li><li><p>Participates in Cardinal U training as required and monitors Team Member participation in Cardinal U.</p></li></ul><p>QUALIFICATIONS</p><ul><li><p>3-5 years of relevant industry experience.</p></li><li><p>Successful leadership and motivation of direct reports in previous roles.</p></li><li><p>Excellent time management and organization skills as well as a professional attitude.</p></li><li><p>Ability to meet strict deadlines and prioritize.</p></li><li><p>Must have EXCELLENT analytical skills, attention to detail and a strong work ethic.</p></li><li><p>Ability to problem solve and think outside of the box.</p></li><li><p>Willing to travel a minimum of 8-12 weeks per year.</p></li><li><p>Professional written and verbal communication as well as great interpersonal skills required.</p></li><li><p>Customer service focused (i.e. generating accurate and timely results and effectively communicating to team members, co-workers and management).</p></li><li><p>Bachelor's degree preferred.</p></li><li><p>Ability to embody the Cardinal Culture and Cardinal's Core Values every day.</p></li></ul><p>WORK ENVIRONMENT</p><p>The work environment characteristics described here are representative of those an employee encounters while performing the essential functions of this job.
