The ideal candidate will be a highly motivated self-starter who is able to provide strategic thought with leadership and lead projects with limited guidance. This individual will partner with the leadership team in business planning and strategic initiatives. Additionally, the incumbent is expected to provide broad insight and thought leadership around various initiatives. The position requires flexibility and ability to effectively function in a dynamic environment, including the ability to address ad hoc projects that arise based on developing business needs with urgency while balancing other priorities. Preference for strong, seasoned Manager level candidate for this role with superior organization, communication, decision making and planning skills.

  • The successful candidate is a strong strategic thinker who possesses the confidence and composure required to effectively communicate with senior management. Able to communicate in a succinct and professional matter

  • Experience in strategy, business plans and other senior leader presentations.

  • Outstanding leadership and relationship building skills with proven ability to influence without authority across peers and superiors and drive projects with little direction

  • High level of integrity for handling confidential information

  • 3-5 Years of experience with Performance, Talent, SPOC and various other employee related HR processes is preferred

  • Ability to work well under pressure, adapt to changing circumstances, make decisions quickly and juggle multiple priorities simultaneously

  • Active listening skills, summarization skills and lateral thinking to uncover and react to emerging opportunities

  • 3 years experience managing day to day VP level priorities required

  • 3 years experience financial planning and budgeting experience

  • Proven ability to navigate effectively and across American Express

  • Deep knowledge of Amex Technology organization systems, processes and organizational structure

  • Able to produce innovative, creative and impactful presentations for all levels of leadership

  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills, including executive presence, with experience translating complex information and requirements into clear and actionable tasks

  • Highly motivated self-starter with ability to juggle multiple tasks in a fast-paced, ambiguous environment, with excellent organization skills and careful attention to detail

  • Ability to work well under pressure and adapt to changing circumstances

  • Ability to learn quickly and work proactively with minimal direction

  • Innovative and collaborative approach to problem solving and overcoming barriers

The team partners closely with business and technology groups to lead end to end execution of platform enhancements, from initial idea generation through implementation and roll-out. Focus areas include GPS, advisory platforms and WealthDesk, the Portfolio Risk Platform powered by BlackRock Aladdin, Investment Solutions platforms, 3D, CRM and client reporting. Wealth Management Investment Platforms is seeking an experienced Product Manager to oversee the continued development and delivery of the Portfolio Risk Platform, powered by Aladdin. In managing the product, the successful candidate will be responsible for conceptualizing and defining the development roadmap, overseeing the technical delivery of enhancements, and liaising with BlackRock to ensure the ongoing success of the product. This role will also be involved in the Engagement and Adoption effort with Morgan Stanley's Field of ~15,000 Financial Advisors, working closely with a team to develop communications and marketing collateral, track adoption metrics, and solicit Financial Advisor feedback to be incorporated into future product releases. This candidate should have strong management skills and a proven record of managing a book of work. Furthermore, the candidate should have subject matter expertise in financial risk metrics and analytics platforms. It is important that the candidate be well versed in the Agile methodology of development. Primary Responsibilities: * Conceptualize the strategy and define the long-term roadmap of the Portfolio Risk Platform * Partner with Technology to develop and deliver platform releases and enhancements using the Agile methodology * Interface with key/senior stakeholders, governing bodies, and business partners to discuss the progress of projects associated with the Portfolio Risk Platform * Collaborate with other Product Management teams to ensure seamless integration of various platforms to create an optimal Financial Advisor experience * Function as point person and liaison with third party vendor (BlackRock) to provide guidance, ensure effective communication, and execute on the delivery of expected product builds * Inform and consult on Engagement and Adoption efforts to help drive ongoing adoption of the platform amongst Morgan Stanley's 15,000 Financial Advisors o Develop communications and marketing collateral o Create and oversee training material o Represent the platform at various Field events o Track adoption metrics and report status to Senior Management o Solicit feedback and ensure it is incorporated into the product build roadmap Qualifications: * At least 5-10 years of financial services/wealth management experience * Strong expertise in financial risk analytics * Strong management skills and ability to manage a large book of work * Highly analytical and effective communication skills * An undergraduate degree (B.A, B.S., or equivalent) required Morgan Stanley New York NY
