The ideal candidate will be a highly motivated self-starter who is able to provide strategic thought with leadership and lead projects with limited guidance. This individual will partner with the leadership team in business planning and strategic initiatives. Additionally, the incumbent is expected to provide broad insight and thought leadership around various initiatives. The position requires flexibility and ability to effectively function in a dynamic environment, including the ability to address ad hoc projects that arise based on developing business needs with urgency while balancing other priorities. Preference for strong, seasoned Manager level candidate for this role with superior organization, communication, decision making and planning skills.
The successful candidate is a strong strategic thinker who possesses the confidence and composure required to effectively communicate with senior management. Able to communicate in a succinct and professional matter
Experience in strategy, business plans and other senior leader presentations.
Outstanding leadership and relationship building skills with proven ability to influence without authority across peers and superiors and drive projects with little direction
High level of integrity for handling confidential information
3-5 Years of experience with Performance, Talent, SPOC and various other employee related HR processes is preferred
Ability to work well under pressure, adapt to changing circumstances, make decisions quickly and juggle multiple priorities simultaneously
Active listening skills, summarization skills and lateral thinking to uncover and react to emerging opportunities
3 years experience managing day to day VP level priorities required
3 years experience financial planning and budgeting experience
Proven ability to navigate effectively and across American Express
Deep knowledge of Amex Technology organization systems, processes and organizational structure
Able to produce innovative, creative and impactful presentations for all levels of leadership
Excellent written and verbal communication skills, including executive presence, with experience translating complex information and requirements into clear and actionable tasks
Highly motivated self-starter with ability to juggle multiple tasks in a fast-paced, ambiguous environment, with excellent organization skills and careful attention to detail
Ability to work well under pressure and adapt to changing circumstances
Ability to learn quickly and work proactively with minimal direction
Innovative and collaborative approach to problem solving and overcoming barriers
Insight and courage to challenge the status quo
Demonstrated relationship management skills with proven ability influence without authority across departmental and geographic boundaries
Strong sense of integrity and ability to deal with issues and subject matter that requires considerable sensitivity, discretion and judgment
preferred skills / experience working in Technology Risk Management or Information Security or both. 3-5 years.
Ability to represent on paper complex topics visually and simply.
Ability to build relationships with and influence remote colleagues.
