Position Overview:

Blue Owl is seeking a self-starting, collaborative Senior Associate / Associate to join our Deal Execution team. This individual will be a member of the Portfolio Management area of the Blue Owl Credit investment team, with the unique opportunity to sit alongside our underwriting and capital markets professionals and oversee a broad range of operational activities pertaining to the investment making and capital deployment processes across the Blue Owl direct lending platform.

Responsibilities:

  • Manage a wide-ranging deal closing process for all Blue Owl Credit loan originations by liaising directly with our sponsors and borrowers, investment team and other internal groups including Capital Markets, Accounting, Operations, Legal, Tax and Compliance.

  • Responsible for owning and completing a comprehensive flow of funds for each direct lending transaction to ensure seamless and organized execution, including fund-level allocations, fee and expense attribution, KYC completion and documentation of all funding mechanics between the lender group and borrower.

  • Partner with our underwriting and legal teams to review credit agreements and related legal documentation for each investment, with joint oversight of deal builds and asset enrichment in the firm's books and records.

  • Oversee our core external loan agency/loan servicing vendor relationship by monitoring all post-close lifecycle activity (amendments, principal & interest payments) across the credit portfolio and assessing key areas for process improvement throughout the operational control framework.

  • Collaborate with our Portfolio Management team to analyze and produce various portfolio activity trends & KPIs, which are utilized by both senior management and a wide range of external stakeholders (investors, LPs).

  • Work closely with our Capital Markets desk, Compliance and Accounting teams to project our investment pipeline, manage fund liquidity and ensure all BDC co-investments across the direct lending platform are made in accordance with relevant rules and regulations.

  • Help drive major cross divisional process improvement and change management projects within the firm, with a sharp focus on data integrity, automation and standardization of best practices.

  • Directly consult and interact with our sponsors and portfolio company CFO/finance teams across a diverse set of post-closing needs and ad-hoc requests (including financial reporting and loan administration).

Qualifications:

  • B.S./B.A in Finance or Computer Science, Information Technology, or other business-related field

  • 2-6 years of experience in a leveraged loan/credit operations, transaction management or other risk management function (private credit / direct lending experience a plus)

  • Highly organized and able to interact directly and communicate with investment professionals

  • Ability to multi-task and maintain attention to detail while working in a dynamic and fast-paced environment

  • Strong proficiency across Microsoft Office tools, particularly Excel (additional experience with IVP, SharePoint, Power BI, WSO, ClearPar all a plus)

  • Commitment to teamwork and resourcefulness with a consensus-driven approach to problem solving

  • Passion for learning, ability to think critically and desire to propose new ideas and solutions

  • Outstanding interpersonal skills with ability to build and maintain relationships

  • Sharp written and verbal communication skills with ability to summarize complex fact sets, anticipate potential issues/client needs and follow through to ensure all deliverables are thoroughly closed out

  • Experience with loan document review and/or loan market settlement mechanics (LSTA) a plus

It is expected that the base annual salary range for this New York City-based position will be $120,000 to $160,000. Actual salaries may vary based on factors, such as skill, experience, and qualification for the role. Employees may be eligible for a discretionary bonus, based on factors such as individual and team performance.
