ABOUT THE JOB

Develops and implements marketing plans and programs for all domestic brands through the Wilson Daniels national sales and distribution network. Develops brand strategy and manages all aspects of marketing, including trade and consumer promotions, collateral, electronic media, advertising and product launches. Establishes and strengthens ongoing relationships with suppliers and key market personnel.

This position requires effective leadership, strategic and analytical skills with the ability to manage and prioritize multiple tasks and deadlines in a fast-paced, multi-faceted environment. Must be highly collaborative, detail-oriented, accurate and organized. Must possess intellectual curiosity and creativity along with strong communication skills.

THE DAY-TO DAY

  • Develop, implement and clearly communicate brand marketing objectives, strategies, programs and tactics for all domestic wine brands in the Wilson Daniels national portfolio.

  • Manage relationships with Supplier partners, conduct brand reviews and performance updates, communicate market insights and provide exceptional customer service

  • Develop and implement brand standards that provide consistent messaging, imagery and quality cues

  • Develop and manage product allocations consistent with channel strategy and brand building objectives

  • Continually analyze sales performance relative to brand goals and communicate findings to Senior. Management, contributing to the development and implementation of corrective action where necessary.

  • Establish brand marketing budgets for assigned brands and work with Finance department to track and evaluate brand spending / profitability through P&L analysis.

  • Apply strong financial context to decision making.

  • Conduct category/brand/competitive set analysis to support strategic planning process.

  • Work with Divisional, Regional & Market Managers and distributors to drive distribution goals.

  • Build an effective network to facilitate communication and collaboration between key stakeholders including Supplier partners, Brand Managers, Sales, Public Relations, Customer Service, Accounting, Operations and other key departments.

  • Collaborate with Director of Portfolio Development and WD Leadership team to identify potential domestic brand additions to the Wilson Daniels portfolio and assist with recruitment, onboarding and launch efforts

  • Represent assigned brands as Brand Ambassador at various trade and consumer events and present to sales teams and distributor channels

  • Establish and strengthen ongoing relationships with key market personnel.

  • Maintain current knowledge of key market profile & dynamics.

  • Maintain professional and technical knowledge by attending educational workshops, reviewing professional publications, and establishing personal networks.

  • Manage and guide the professional development of 1 Napa-based Associate Brand Manager.

  • Other duties as assigned.

COMMUNICATION SKILLS:

  • Effectively present information verbally and in writing, communicating with managers, suppliers, customers and the general public.

  • Present recommendations in a concise, persuasive manner, both written and verbal, to all levels of employees, trade partners, customers and suppliers.

  • Read, analyze and interpret general business periodicals, professional journals, technical procedures and governmental regulations.

  • Prepare reports, presentations and business correspondence with utmost accuracy and professionalism

ANALYTICAL SKILLS:

  • Conduct pricing analysis and make recommendations to achieve target margins, factoring in currency exchange rates, discounts, commissions, and other relevant calculations.

  • Demonstrated analytical skills and experience in forecasting and marketing research

  • High level of PC skills (Windows, Word, Excel and PowerPoint).

  • Ability to manipulate Excel and PowerPoint to create thorough analysis and convincing presentations and recommendations.

EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE:

  • Bachelor's Degree with course work in business/marketing or equivalent experience required

  • 5 to 8 years of brand marketing management

  • Premium wine or luxury beverage experience preferred

  • MBA a plus.

  • Knowledge of 3-tier distribution system; experience with import brands a plus
