Coordinates community health assessment, health education, and health related communication activities for health district. Duties include: developing and implementing health education and promotion programming; community health program planning, development, monitoring and analysis; Leads community work groups and makes presentations to other public, private sector groups, local governmental representatives and media representatives. Supervision of others involved in community health/population health and management of social media communications for the district.

Minimum Qualifications

Knowledge of community health assessment an coalition building. Knowledge of basic principles of public and population health. Experience with community health education and promotion theories and practices.

Preferred Qualifications

A Bachelor of Masters Degree in Health Education, Public Health, or related field. Experience working on a community health coalition plan and improvement plan.

Special Requirements

Employment is contingent upon satisfactory results of a state and federal criminal history background check and the Department of Social Services Child Abuser and Neglect Central Registry check, U.S. HHS IG Exclusion List check, employment reference check and E-Verify.

The selected candidate must complete a Statement of Personal Economic Interests as a condition of employment, if applicable (Va. Code 2.2-3114). Other financial, credit, driving, or other background checks prior to employment may be required for certain positions.

Requirements for this dynamic opportunity include possession of valid license as a Registered Nurse (preferred)/Licensed Practical Nurse in the state of practice.
