Popular community-based cafe in Pittsburgh, PA seeks a full-time experienced Kitchen Manager.

Popular community-based cafe is a colorful mod breakfast/lunch stop in the East Liberty neighborhood serving a local, seasonal American menu with vegetarian choices. We are dedicated to local talent as well as to the community, and we partner with many local nonprofits on fundraisers, special events, and promotions.

The #1 thing we want this role to initially accomplish is to manage the BOH staff, inventory, ordering, menu development, and cooking.

The ideal candidate is organized and works efficiently. You show initiative and leadership while at the same time being a great team player and leading by example.

• Kitchen Manager

Compensation:

• $48-58K salary
• Paid Weekly

Schedule requirements:

• 45-60 hours weekly
• 4 days per week
• Mostly days and some evenings

Language requirements:

• English

Experience required:

• 3+ years of BOH management experience in a high-volume cafe or casual restaurant
• P & L management (maintaining food costs, maximizing profitability)
• Staff training and motivation
• Food and Beverage safety knowledge (certification preferred)
• Managing 5-10 people
