Marketing and Communications Intern/Student Worker

JOB PURPOSE:

Working with our Marketing and Communications person.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

Key Responsibilities:

Content Creation: Create engaging content for multiple platforms including photos, videos, print materials, and digital content to boost the college's presence and engagement.

Written Communications: Help draft and refine email communications, press releases, event announcements, and craft compelling social media captions.

Website Management:

Remove outdated content and pages from our website.

Design and launch new web pages.

Update and refine existing content.

Optimize images and layouts for enhanced web performance.

Learning and Using Software Tools:

Use and learn about various digital creation tools such as Canva, Adobe Creative Suite (Photoshop, Illustrator, Premiere Pro), video editing software, and Omni CMS. No prior experience required-just bring your enthusiasm to learn!

Customer Service: Support the Dean's Office with various tasks, providing excellent service and support as part of our team.

REMOTE WORK ELIGIBILITY:

This position provides vital support to campus customers and requires the successful candidate be available to work on campus.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:

Current UW student

DESIRED QUALIFICATIONS:

Education and Experience: Ideal for current students in marketing, communications, digital media, or similar fields looking for practical experience.

Learning and Adaptability: Eagerness to learn new skills and software, with or without previous experience.

Communication Skills: Strong written and verbal communication abilities.

Brand Alignment: Capability to understand and implement the University of Wyoming's branding and communication guidelines.

Team Collaboration: Excellent teamwork skills and the ability to work effectively on shared projects.

Public Speaking/Presence: Comfort with public speaking and being in front of the camera for video content.
