The Pool Host/Hostess will handle reservations and inquiries about the restaurant while recording all special requests and guest preferences in order to ensure our guests consistently enjoy a delightful dining experience. The host person will assist in the seating of guests and provide expert assistance to guests with respect to menu items. The host person will also be thoroughly knowledgeable of all pool amenities and activities, to be able to respond proficiently to all inquiries. The host person must also work in accordance with the service standards as required by Waldorf Astoria and Forbes Travel Guide.
What will I be doing?
Accept accurate and complete reservations
Assist and greet team members and guests in a professional manner
Point out all pool amenities upon arrival
Offer assistance with umbrellas as needed
Maintain pool deck cleanliness
Use guest names and communicate them to the team members to ensure five star/five diamond service
Provide guests tour of pool as requested
Assist in monitoring all guest needs and communicating them accordingly
Escort guest to cabanas, caf and pool lounge chairs
Set up chairs with towels and bottled water
Follow the posted opening and closing duties as well as side work sheet for each shift
Have expert knowledge of menu items to assist guest
Coordinate set menus for small groups and distribute copies of the event form accordingly
Inform managers on a daily basis of reservations forecast
Attend daily pre meal/communication meeting
Attend monthly department meeting as required
Professional appearance and demeanor at all times
Flexible schedule, able to work opening, mid, and closing shifts as required.
1-2 years previous experience as a host/hostess/manager within a luxury food and
Must have excellent communication skills both written and verbal in the English language
Ability to work a flexible schedule which includes am, pm, weekends and
Must have proper phone etiquette and maintain hotel standards
Must have a working knowledge of computers
Must have working knowledge and experience using opentable.com
Maintain proper grooming standards, appearance and demeanor
Ability to handle multiple guest requests
