Job Summary

Wash, mop, and clean the pool deck. Promote a fun and relaxing atmosphere for guests in all recreational activities and areas by expressing an upbeat and enthusiastic attitude.

Observe activity in the recreational facility and respond appropriately in accordance with local operating procedure in the event of an emergency. Promote the rules and regulations of the recreation facility. Be aware of possible situations where guests are not able to safely participate in an activity and inform supervisor/manager.

Provide assistance to injured guests until the arrival of emergency medical services. Obtain, fold, and stack towels according to company procedures. Report accidents, injuries, and unsafe work conditions to manager; complete safety training and certifications.

Follow all company and safety and security policies and procedures; report any maintenance problems, safety hazards, accidents, or injuries; complete safety training and certifications. Ensure uniform and personal appearance are clean and professional.

Maintain confidentiality of proprietary information; protect company assets. Support all co-workers and treat them with dignity and respect. Support team to reach common goals.

Comply with quality assurance expectations and standards. Move, lift, carry, push, pull, and place objects weighing less than or equal to 25 pounds without assistance. Read and visually verify information in a variety of formats (e. g., small print). Visually inspect tools, equipment, or machines (e. g., to identify defects). Enter and locate work-related information using computers and/or point of sale systems.

Grasp, turn, and manipulate objects of varying size and weight, requiring fine motor skills and hand-eye coordination. Reach overhead and below the knees, including bending, twisting, pulling, and stooping. Move over sloping, uneven, or slippery surfaces and steps.

Move up and down stairs and/or service ramps. Perform other reasonable job duties as requested by Supervisors.

POSITION SUMMARY: The pool attendant is responsible to oversee the pool area, make safety announcements and maintain an inventory of all poolside equipment to be available for guest use at all times. Experienced in the Hospitality Industry, Serves residents by providing information and services. POSITION RESPONSIBILITIES: Oversees pool area (adult/children) and make safety announcements. Assists with set up and breakdown for poolside activities as needed. Must be able to submit and report incidents to the appropriate manager. Must be service oriented. Picks up debris from the pool and possess basic cleaning skills. Checks sports equipment (ping pong, golf, shuffleboard and others) to make sure they are in order for guest to use. Reports broken sports equipment to manager so that replacement equipment can be ordered. Must have the ability to work as a team member. Must be accessible to and approachable with residents/guests. Must be familiar with the Safety and Environmental Protection Policy and carry out the policies and procedures appropriate for his/her position. Follows safety procedures and maintains a safe work environment. OPERATING SKILLS, KNOWLEDGE & ABILITIES: Education/Training: High school diploma or equivalency preferred. Completion of College level courses in Hospitality is strongly desirable. Experience/Knowledge: Two (2) or more years experience in the Hospitality Industry. Effective written and verbal communication skills; Multiple language fluency is desirable. Strong customer service, communication and interpersonal skills required. Special Requirements: Ability to lift 30 -- 50 lbs; Work in an upright standing position for long periods of time; Walk and climb stairs; Handle, finger, grasp and feel objects and equipment; Reach with hands and arms; Communicate, receive and exchange ideas and information by means of the spoken and written word; Ability to quickly and easily navigate the property/building as required to meet the job functions; Ability to respond to emergencies in a timely manner. Ability to work flexible hours and weekends.
