We want you on our team...Clark Regional Medical Center located in Winchester, an 18 minute drive from Lexington, KY is searching for an Sleep Technologist (Polysomnographic Technologist) to join our Sleep Lab. This is a PRN, variable shift position providing comprehensive evaluations and treatments of sleep disorders under the general supervision including in and out of center sleep testing, diagnostic and therapeutic interventions, comprehensive patient care and direct education.

Essential functions of position include, but are not limited to:

Performs plan of care intervention, including medication administration, specimen collection, clinical treatments, as well as other medical care treatment

  • Collect, analyze and integrate patient information in order to identify and meet the patient-specific needs (physical/mental limitations, current emotional/physiological status regarding the testing procedure, pertinent medical/social history).

  • Determine final testing parameters/procedures in conjunction with the ordering physician or clinical director and laboratory protocols.

  • Review the patient's history and verify the medical order

  • Follow sleep center protocols related to the sleep study

  • Maintain storage areas with required supply levels and equipment

  • Disassembles, cleans, and sterilizes equipment, and performs preventative maintenance and calibration of machines.

  • Requires critical thinking skills, decisive judgment and the ability to work with minimal supervision. Must be able to work in a stressful environment and take appropriate action

Education:

  • Bachelor's Degree, preferred

  • Graduate of program of discipline, required

Licensure/Certifications:

  • Basic Life Support (BLS), required

  • Registered Polysomnographic Technologist (RPSGT)

  • Certified Polysomnographic Technologist (CPSGT)

This is a PRN, variable shift position where you will perform imagining procedures in accordance with applicable scope and standards of practice. Essential functions include, but are not limited to: * Reviews patient history and physician's orders * Educates patient regarding procedures, equipment and exam to ensure patient's understanding and cooperation * When ordered, prepares and administers contrast media and/or medications within scope of practice * Monitors patient condition continually and reports/responds to changes in status as appropriate * Prepares equipment and supplies * Implements safety standards and performs appropriate quality control procedures on equipment * Troubleshoots, resolves, and/or reports equipment malfunctions as necessary * Positions patient and performs imaging procedure(s). * Analyzes results and identifies issues with the quality of imaging results * Takes appropriate action to resolve image quality issues, including repositioning patient and repeating procedure * Enters, transmits and reports scan results * Requires critical thinking skills, detail oriented with decisive judgment and the ability to work with minimal supervision. Must be able to work in a stressful environment and take appropriate action. Must be flexible with work location assignments Education: * Graduate of Program in Discipline, required * Bachelor's Degree, preferred Licensure/Certifications: * Valid current Kentucky Radiation Operators license * ARRT * Basic Life Support (BLS), required Lifepoint Hospitals Bel Air KY
