Job Summary: Polysom Technician II; FT, night shift for St Joseph East Hospital in Lexington, Kentucky.
Performs and operates sleep study equipmentaccording to manufacturer recommendations and with physician oversight toinclude polysomnography, CPAP titration, Home Sleep Testing, and electroencephalography. Responsible for record keeping of patientfiles, faxing reports as needed, along with other clerical duties asneeded. Cleans and prepares equipmentfor patient use.
1.Demonstrates theknowledge and skills necessary to provide care appropriate to the age of thepatients served.
2.Performs procedures toensure quality patient care in accordance with Accrediting Body and Sleepphysician expectations/protocols.
3.Displays knowledge andcomplies with the National Patient Safety goals.
4.Supports and reportsany identified compliance matters.
5.Participates inhospital and department quality assurance programs to ensure safety andsatisfaction.
6.Maintains professionaldevelopment and education for technical competency.
7.Uses standardprecautions, PPE, at all times.
8.Maintains regulatorycompliance and licensure for current position.
9.Attends all KYOneHealth required educational programs as well as all Learn modules.
10. Contributes to theefficient operation and monitoring of the department and utilizes our resourcesefficiently.
11. Demonstrates completeworking knowledge of equipment within assigned area.
12. Knowledge andperformance of the Code of Conduct Standards.
High school graduate or equivalent withprevious experience in EEG or Polysomnograghy preferred.
Within12 months of hire into position, must graduate from accredited school of SleepTechnology School or completed the A-Step Sleep Program, AND obtain their certification as a RegisteredPolysomnographic Technologist (RPSGT)
BLS within 30days of employment.
