Job Summary

AECOM is actively seeking a Principal Reviewer to provide program support to a Policy program. The position will be located at Washington, DC.

Essential Responsibilities:

  • Effectively communicate information on policies, procedures and activities both verbally and in writing to CUI stakeholders.

  • Participates as a team member but also works independently to adjudicate decisions on documents (independent research is required).

  • Demonstrate proper understanding of document markings and ultimately proper handling.

  • Assist in the identification of specific CUI categories and Subcategories and where applicable document any special handling requirements within associated laws, regulations and/or Government wide polices.

  • Assist in the review and evaluation of current policy directives that prescribe protective measures for designated information and aid in the preparation of appropriate documentation to modify or rescind affected policy directives.

  • Ability to correctly apply appropriate review guidance.

  • Ability to research information and make informed decisions.

  • Ability to interact with the government client when necessary.

  • Leverages professional experience such as intelligence, criminal justice, operational security, or public policy training while executing job responsibilities.

  • Support program management functions and implementation activities to include, program analysis, planning, development, management, and monitoring/tracking initiatives.

  • Assist the Department in developing manuals and guides which disseminate information security policies

  • Prepare training and awareness materials that explain the program and its purpose.

  • Assist in drafting security awareness materials including: visual aids/training material, handouts, bulletins, etc.

  • May be asked to lead small ad hoc teams of short duration.

  • Assist in the establishment and operation of a system for reporting and remediating incidents involving CUI.

  • Prepare and submit weekly, monthly, and quarterly reports for the customer to review.

Perform all other position related duties as assigned or requested.

Minimum Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree preferably in History, Political Science, International Affairs, Security Studies, Public Policy or related field and 5-9 years relevant experience; or 7-10 years direct experience in CUI, classification, declassification, research, FOIA, public policy, intelligence, security, or criminal justice.

  • A deep understanding of EO 13556 and the 32 CFR Part 2002, in-depth knowledge of the CUI Registry, as well as associated categories and subcategories and CUI Marking requirements. Demonstrated ability to develop and implement new security program requirements into existing organizational structures. Proven experience in evaluating, analyzing, developing and managing security related program requirements in a large decentralized environment. Well versed in security concepts, programs, procedures, and practices to assist in establishing, operating and maintaining security related programs.

  • Excellent communication skills and a strong ability to establish effective professional working relationships with coworkers and customers; proficiency in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Project) and SharePoint; organizational skills and ability to perform detail-oriented work are required. Position may require periodic travel within the National Capital Region.

  • Proven experience writing policy documentation

  • Active Top Secret Security Clearance and SCI Eligibility.

  • Experience defining, developing, and implementing policy documentation

  • Final DOJ TS/SCI Clearance

About this role The Public Policy Analyst will be an integral part of Vulcan's Government and Community Relations team. This position will be responsible for conducting public policy research and analysis, and supporting the drafting of internal and external papers, articles, briefings and presentations regarding Vulcan's programs, initiatives and areas of interest, including environmental; natural resource; and national and global security issues.
