Overview

The Point of Care(POC) Coordinator for Marshalltown Laboratory is responsible for the training, competency and instrument upkeep of the POC analyzers in the hospital waived CLIA areas.

This position will also serve as testing personnel in the laboratory and is responsible for performing laboratory tests and analyses in the hematology, blood bank, special chemistry, chemistry and microbiology departments in the laboratory. Associate must present record of certification to the Laboratory Director within 1 year of employment and/or within 90 days of expiration of MLS/MT/MLT/CLA certification.

The POC Coordinator performs routine laboratory testing, laboratory specimen collection and is responsible for quality control and regular maintenance of laboratory equipment.

Qualifications

Associate degree and Degree in Medical Technology or Clinical Laboratory Science or Qualify as Testing Personnel under Federal.

Preferred Bachelor Degree in Science.
2 years of clinical laboratory experience.

Preferrred Point of Care Experience.

Previous supervisory experience.

Valid Driver's license when driving any vehicle for work- related reasons.

Must be able to read, write and speak English.
