Job Summary

• A Medical Laboratory Scientist/Medical Technologist assuming responsibility and accountability for supervision and development of laboratory point of care testing. Responsible for assuring appropriate policies and procedures are followed by non-laboratory testing personnel in various locations both inside and outside the hospital. Responsible to oversee training of POC testing personnel. Ensures all regulatory and compliance issues are addressed for point of care testing. Provides oversight in areas of policy and procedure for laboratory testing and reviews quality control metrics to ensure appropriate quality is ensured. Travel to various locations to assist with compliance is expected. Ability to monitor and compile data and disseminate results to multiple levels of leaders and employees. Uses specialist certification and knowledge to provide skilled guidance in area of specialty

Job Requirements

• Education

• Required: Bachelor's Degree must be obtained within 90 days OR High School Diploma or equivalent AND Grandfathered status under CLIA Regulations

• Experience

• Preferred: 1 year experience as a Medical Lab Scientist

• Skills

• Strong analytical/problem solving skills.

• Knowledge of current information technology and an ability to lead project teams to accomplish automation projects of large size and complexity.

• Proficient in all Microsoft programs; high level proficiency in Excel.

• Ability to communicate effectively with different levels of management. Demonstrates clear verbal and written communication.

• Licensure/Certification/Registration

• Required: Certified as a Medical Technologist/Medical Laboratory Scientist Specialist from a nationally recognized laboratory certifying agency or eligible to sit for exam at time of hire; must obtain certification within 90 days of hire OR Grandfathered Status under CLIA Regulations
